I found something good.

Actually, a client found it and asked us to install it.

In the dim reaches of my surfing memories, I recall having been at the HAMweather site before. But I must have had my attention somewhere else because I forgot about it.

At the HAMweather site you can pick up the most visually appealing weather forecasting CGI programs that I know of. They're totally awesome.

And they're free.

Want to make your site interesting? Here's one way to do that.

Your visitors can get current weather conditions and forecasts for any location in the United States and several hundred cities around the world.

Want to gently remind your visitors about the benefits of your site? Let them receive a daily weather email from you.

There are three versions, Lite, Standard, and Pro. Several add-ons are available, too, such as the email service mentioned above.

HAMweather and the add-ons are free.

Familiarity with CGI and installing Perl scripts is required to install these. They are somewhat technical. But the result is well worth it.

See a demonstration at http://www.hamweather.com/demo/

If you don't want to do your own installations, HAMweather's charge for this is very reasonable. They charge $35 for installing HAMweather and $15 for each add-on (when the add-ons are installed at the same time as HAMweather).

The user interface is easily customized using HTML templates. In addition, you can give your site multiple looks with HAMweather Themes.

The current conditions and forecasts include weather, representative icons, and temperature.

Depending on the version you install and your settings, the forecast is also presented in text paragraphs. The Pro version includes image radar maps.

The email subscription options include a text or HTML preference. Folks can subscribe for an open ended period of time or with a specific start and end date.

The administrator's control panel is accessed with your browser and is easy to use. You have control of a wide range of settings and features related to forecast display.

I think you'll like this.

You can get your copy at http://www.hamweather.com/

Have fun with it!
