Written primarily for maintaining WebLog pages, the program can also be used to accomplish other jobs. See below. For those who are unfamiliar with the term, "WebLog" in today's context (also known as "BLog") generally refers to a daily list of sites or tidbits related to a particular theme. The list is displayed on a web page. Entries are usually dated and remain on the page for a predefined period of time. As a few examples, you can use Master WebLog to:
Uses can be personal, informational, or commercial. How popular your particular implementation is depends on how many interested people know about it. How Master WebLog works: Use the Administrative Control Panel to add, delete, and edit entries. There is room for a date/title and narrative. HTML may be used to insert links, images, and sound. Entries may be archived individually. Archived entries may be deleted. So you can design your own page and font styles, Master WebLog inserts your entries into your web page with SSI. (See "Server Side Includes," linked from http://www.willmaster.com/possibilities/archives/.) When your entries display on your web page, archived entries can be viewed by clicking links at the bottom. Installation: Installation is simple. You edit the script for your own password, display colors, optional archive period, and a few other items to customize your copy. Then upload the script and give it the correct permission. Instructions are in the script itself. See a demo of Master WebLog at http://willmaster.com/a/7/pl.pl?art73 And pick up a copy of Master WebLog at the same URL. It's free.
