Master Board is a "bulletin board" script, easy to install and easy to use.

Mari wrote the script. She says:

"When I was deciding on features I wanted in a bulletin board script, I knew I wanted a clean looking presentation, something that would be user friendly and (very important!) easy to maintain. I also wanted to be able to change it's appearance in different situations."

Master Board features include:

• All original queries/posts are displayed on one page.

• Answers to an original query/post can be viewed, all at once, by clicking on the post.

• Old threads can be archived on your server or deleted — all automatically.

• Users can choose to be notified if their thread gets more responses.

• As maintainer, you are notified each time the board is used.

Master Board does not display any email addresses, either on the board display or in the database files. If you use this script correctly, you will not provide a source for the spammer's to harvest email addresses.

You can specify the board's appearance by telling the script:

• The background color of the table.

• The background color of the title row.

• The background color of the rows containing the questions.

• The background color of the rows containing the answers.

Master Board will remove inactive threads from your forum. You just specify how many days a thread should stay on the board with no activity.

When threads expire, the files can be archived or deleted — your choice.

You can edit the plain text email template file used to create emails sent to those requesting notification when a thread is updated.

The board's home page and the page where threads are displayed are generated from templates, too. This allows you to control the design and other content of the Master Board pages.

The Master Board posts are maintained in plain text files. This means you can manually edit or even delete them if inappropriate posts are made.
